Hello,
I am a descendant of the Tvedte family of Norway. The branch that I am from was from Valestrand, Norway. My 2nd great grandfather, Tollef Tvedte then emmigrated to North Dakota, United States. The name was later changed to Tweed in the United States.
Is Tvedte a place name? Did it refer to a family farm? Does anyone know the origin of the name? Is this a common name in Norway?
I am interested in knowing more about the Tvedte family and would appreciate any information that you know. I am also more than happy to provide the information that I know to you.
I have a Tvedte - Tweed family tree that was compiled several years ago by a cousin. This tree documents the descendants of the Tvedte family in North Dakota. I am more than happy to look up information in it for you!
I look forward to your posts.
Sincerely,
Travis
