Hi All,

I am Ilkin, originally from Bielefeld, working in London at the moment the next 2 months and then return to Bielefeld. Probably most of you know that most of the existing Tuxhorns are originally from Bielefeld. My Girlfriend is a Tuxhorn as well who was bor and raised in Bielefeld (Dornberg/Kirchdornberg parish), where the Tuxhorns have their roots. I am quite interested in your Tuxhorn research and can eventually help you on this matter.

Hi IIkin. Recently we found some information that our family were originally Tuxhorns who settled in NYC. Our great grandfather was Henry Tuxhorn b. 1807 Prussia. On the 1880 US censes he lists his the place he came from as Hannover. Do you have any knowledge of Tuxhorns from Hannover. Thank you so much for any help you can give. Linda

Hello Ilkin,
I do not know if I have written you before or not. I am very interested in corresponding with you. I am descended from August and Elizabeth Birkenbuel Tuxhorn. Actually, August's name in Germany was Fredrick William August but was known in the U.S. by August. He was from Bielefeld. Please contact me. Linda

I too am interested in Tuxhorn research. What is the evidence that Friedrich Wilhelm Tuxhorn, born 18 Oct 1833 in Amshausen is the August Tuxhorn who married Elizabeth Birkenbuel in Peru, IL? Or am I confusing him with someone else? The birth/baptism register does not use the name August?
