I just found the most wonderful book and will try to locate a place to purchase my own copy. I got this from inter-library loan. The title is
"Aviation History In Greater Kansas City"
Written by the Editors of Historic Aviation Magazine
Library of Congress Catalog Card # 74-119630

It is really interesting and has quite a bit of coverage on Albert Reed (husband of Mathilde Tuxhorn (Charles)(August) who was the very first owner/operator of a public airport in K.C. MO. IT also talks about his son, Earl who also was in the aviation business and of course, his brother-in-law (Mathilde's brother), Blaine Tuxhorn. Blaine was an inventor and pilot. Very interesting reading.

I just found your site by accident and was suprised to see the name Blaine Tuxhorn. Both my father and grandfather were named Marvin Blaine Tuxhorn. I am not sure of the date or place of birth of my grandfather but he grew up in Kansas and was involved with opening the first airstrip in or around Kansas Mo. My father was born in Mo. around 1940. If this is of intrest to anyone feel free to contact me.

I am the great-granddaughter of Marvin B. Tuxhorn and his first wife, Rose Eloise Schott. Their youngest daughter, Patsy Zoe Tuxhorn was my grandmother. She had some...issues. I'd love to get to know you.
