My GGrandfather is Peter T. Peterson. He changed his name from Tuveson to Peterson when he came to America and kept the "T" for his middle initial. He was born in Gyrt, Christianstad, Sweden 6 May, 1870. He has a brother and sister: Nels and Ellen. I have no further information on them.

Peter married a Hilda Petrie (she is from Sweden as well).

I learned that Peter arrived in America from Glimakra or Glimukra, Sweden in 1893. He arrived in Minnesota from Fort Dodge Iowa in 1909.

I am trying to find information on Peter, his siblings and his parents.

Please email me at sldumire@go.com

Listed in the demographic database of southern Sweden ( www.ddss.nu ) is a Tufve Persson that married an Inger Olsdotter on 10 Jan 1847 in Glimåkra Parish. He appears to be the son of Pehr Hansson and Hanna Jönsdotter and was born 7 Nov 1817. Sister Nilla born 14 Dec 1810. Brother Hans born 7 Dec 1807. Sister Sissa born 29 Oct 1813. Brother Måns born 26 Sep 1822.

Tuvfe and Ingers children:
Bengta 29 Dec 1847
Anna 4 May 1854
Sissa 20 Feb 1858
Else 15 Nov 1861
Olof 9 Feb 1864

Hope this fits with your family.

Is this part of our family tree? Do you know if the first daughter died and was also named Bengta(died before she was 3)? Then they named the second daughter Bengta as well? Was Sissa same as Cecilia? If so I would like to exchange some information. From what I have been told this would be my great grandmothers family. If not thank you for the information.

The database death records don't cover the time period. It was a fairly common practice to re-use the names of deceased children. I can't find another Bengta born to this couple although there is a gap after the birth of Bengta when another child may have been born. Sissa and Ceclia were often interchanged when Americanized but not while in Sweden.
