Is the birthdate you have for James B. Tuvell 02/07/1838? If so, I would be interested in sharing information.

I'm curious if there is an index of burials in this cemetery available online at this point (2014). Is Ohio the first place evidence of the Tuvells' pops up in the historical record? Always wondered what our country of origin was. I know that there are Tuvells in England even now, in the more northern part, but there are Tuvells in other European countries also. Hi, Lori - I've never found an index of burials. I actually visited the site about twenty years ago and found two headstones there, but they weren't readable, as I recall. It was in a state of disrepair, unfortunately.

I believe James Purgett may be buried there. Purgett actually owned the land and the Tuvells lived with and took care of him.

James B's father is listed as having been born "enroute from Ireland at sea" - could be that's just where his ship left from, or maybe his family came from there. I haven't had much success more than that. Like you, I found several Tuvells in England.

Good luck with your search!
