Hi John, Benjamin Tuter is my great great grandfather also. Alpha Elizabeth was my great grandmother, her daughter Amy Edith Smith was my dad's mother. I have Henry V. Tuter for Benjamin's father and I have two of Benjamin's brothers and names of their spouses and at least some of their children. Would be glad to exchange info. My email address is mfrose@pdq.net. I am new to this also but a cousin of mine gave me some of my info. Marie

Hi, John,
I have been unable to find proof of the identity of the father of Benjamin, Ballard Pickard and I have been trying for more than 30 years. The 1860 FTM CD of the census of Mercer Co. WV, notes that Susan Tutor did not appear to be their mother. Other researchers have decided that Susan Love was indeed their mother, but I have yet to see their proof. Henry Tutor and Martha Ausley descendants moved to NC. My e-mail address is ncook@prodigy.net. Pickard Tuter's family are the western Tuters.

I have the father of Benjamin to be Henry V. Tuter as well, mother Susan Love. I am also a descendant - Henry's son Ballard Preston was my Great-Great-Grandfather. This branch of the family ended up in Missouri. I have information on that branch of hte family to present time, but stuck on Henry V. and Susan Love. Apparently there's a family bible floating around with some of this info and if I get that info, I will share.

Hi, distant relative. In case you are still searching for this info:

in Decatur County, Ind.

Benjamin P. Tutor m. Elizabeth Swinney on 22 July 1869.
Ballard P. Tutor married Adaline Worrell on 17 Mar 1869 Packard Tuter m. Sarah Lane on 4 Sep 1877.
James Tuter m. Dureitha Giberson on 14 Oct 1884.
I'm descended from Ballard and Adaline....They moved to Mo. so perhaps the others did, too.
I also have unconfirmed info that Henry's wife was Susan Love. I also have the name Packard as "Pickard" according to family info.

Hello!

Alpha Elizabeth Tuter was my great great grandmother, and I have family reports that her daughter, Ada (Amy?) Ethel Smith Peavler was part Native American (assumed Cherokee). Does anyone here have any reference to the Tuters or Swinney's being Cherokee at all? Apparently a distant of cousin of mine has a membership card from this side of the family, but "doesn't remember" with what documentation he got it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
