very obviously no one is doing research on the Tuter family except for me. I need to know all I can about the Tuter family. The only information I have is that my paternal grandfather was Buster Tuter born 10-14-1918 in Sisson Ca. and that he died in 1983 from a stroke. He died in Klamath falls Oregon, but is Burried in Dorris Ca I believe.

Hi Crystal. I have just started trying to research my Mothers side of the family. My maternal Grandmothers name was Ivy Tuter. She had a brother named Art. They were born in, or around, Mt. Shasta, (Sisson). I don't have birthdates on either one of them, but they had to have been born 90 or so years ago. Their father, I don't have a first name, was from Kentucky, and supposedly had a plantation there. Tuter was not that common a name, so I would not be surprised were Buster and my great-grandfather the same person, or brothers.
All of the following was in and around Mt. Shasta: Father: ? Tuter Dauther: Ivy Son: Art Ivy married Clifford Fee 4 daughters, Doris, Mary, Helen and Evelyn My mother, Doris, married Eugene Babcock
Hope this helps. Cliff

My ggrrandfather was James Willam Tuter of the Mt Shasta area but he is buried in Sacramento CA. The name Buster rings a bell in my head for some reason but I was very young when he died. I'll have to ask my aunt's if it is him or maybe his brother. Sharon

I am looking at the Tuter name and have gotten as far back as Henry Tuter who was born around 1821-1825. So far I have found that Henry and his wife had 3 sons. Benjamin F. Tuter, Henry Pickard Tuter and Ballard Preston Tuter. Benjamin would be my Gr,Gr, Grandfather. I have found info from Benjamin up to the present. Please let me know if you have any information.

I have just started doing research on the Tuter name. There seems to be a part of the family that ended up in the Northwest part of the US. My family lives in Missouri with several of my fathers aunts in uncles locating in Missouri or Oklahoma. I have traced back to Henry Tuter b. 1821?. I have yet to find a tie between the midwest Tuters and the West Tuters. I would love to send or receive as much info as I can.

John,
I too have been trying to get some information on the Tuters in OK. My dad was born there. His name was Howard Lee Tuter. His father was Ben Hubert Tuter. My dad joined the Navy and settled in CA after WW2. He died when I was 13, so I never found out much about his side of the family. He was born on Feb 29th 1922(?).
