James Tutcher b 1834, Chard, Som, England
Looking for relatives of James Tutcher. He married Elizabeth Mary Wilson and they had nine children (Mary Ann, Edith Caroline, Jim, Jack, William, Fred, Frank, Nell, Flora Kate)
James had a number of brothers and sisters (Samuel, Benjamin, Joseph and Mary) and his parents were John and Mary. John was born in Chardstock, but no other details are known.

Can you help? My Great grand mother Emily Tutcher married William James Sims on the 19.01.1907 she was aged 26 years, the marriage took place in Bristol. I am unable to locate Emily's birth certificate but her father was called John Tutcher.

Sorry I can't help - there were a number of Tutchers in the Bristol area, but as of yet I have not connected them to those I am researching

Is this james related to Thomas Henry Tutcher, and therefore Susan A.Beaman his wife? Is Benjamin A. Tutcher 1871-1850 overbrook KS, one of their sons related too? I have a photo labeled Grandma Tutcher taken late 19th cent. ottawa kansas. think it may be Susan Annette.

Re: James Tutcher b 1834, Chard, Som, England
I'm a relative of this James Tutcher. His sister, Mary, married Thomas PITT 23rd Dec 1854 in Bristol, and they were my great, great grandparents.
I disagree with your information on James and Mary's parents a little. I have John as born about 1791 in Axminster, Devon (which is close to Chard, Somerset) and his wife Mary born about 1797 at Dalwood, Devon also nearby. In 1851 they were living in "Crimchard Tithing" of Chard, and in 1861 at Lower Langham, Crimchard.
I guess this makes me a relative of yourself ...
Incidentally, do you know the pedigree of John William TUTCHER, the fossil man of considerable repute from the Bristol area? I've not joined him up yet, but he's got to join somewhere ...
Cheers, Tony Pitt

Re: James Tutcher b 1834, Chard, Som, England
Tony I stumbbled across your 2004 posting whilst surfing the net for 'Tutcher' info / family trees etc. You may have solved your question of John William Tutcher by now but in case not here goes. John William was the brother of my great grandfather Charles Frederick Tutcher. They are both sons of Joseph Tutcher who in turn was a son of John Tutcher born circa 1791 in Axminster. I have a pretty full chart now of John Tutcher's descendants which I'm happy to copy to you if you get in touch - my email is johnangela.shipley@tiscali.co.ukRgds John Shipley
