Hi Josie,

Your message is over 10 years old now so I imagine that you have already found out all that you need to know. But just in case you haven't.....

Leonard Albert Tustin was my great-grand mother's brother. I guess that makes him my great grand uncle! He was not one of a twin. There were 5 children in the family; 2 female (Dora Agnes Mary and Hilda Lilian) and two brothers (Jesse Edwin Thomas and Albert Leslie) His father, Albion John Tustin, died in 1906 and his mother, Lillie Harris, remarried. In 1911 they were all living in Sparkbrook, Birmingham. Then something must have happened as the two younger boys (Leonard and Albert) end up working in farms in Canada. They were both Barnardo's Children so I assume the family was too poor or the stepsons were made unwelcome - who know? Leonard arrived in Canada in 1915 and Lesley in 1921. Jesse also emigrated after he had served in WWI of his own accord. The two females remained in the UK.

As I said - you may already know all of this but I thought it was worth it. Happy to share anything else I know with you.

Kindest regards,
Sharon x
