I am looking for descendants of Alexander Charles Turner born 1806 Deptford and his wife Margaret Hennis. Alexander Charles Turner was a baker and had bakeries in Woolwich (1830s), Shoreditch (1840s), Chelsea (1850s and 60s) and Southwark, he possibly died 1861. He also helped his half brother John Vickers run a bakery at Hyde Park Corner in 1851. He had a sister Eleanor Deborah Turner born 1803 in Deptford who married a William Henry Woodward. He had a large family of about 9 children Margaret, Alexander, Charles, Ann Isabella, Jane, Ann, Alice, Amy and Florence. Not many survived though , the marriages I know are Margaret Turner born 1830 Woolwich married George Cathcart Johnson, Jane Turner married James Stewart, Ann Turner (1841 Bishopsgate) married Joseph Smith, Alice Turner possibly married William Johnson, Amy Turner (born 1848 Pimlico) married Frederick Robert Williams.
His mother Jane Scott (c 1764-1837 Woolwich) who married in 1799 in Newcastle Alexander Turner (c1773- 1848 Woolwich) who was a baker in Woolwich Powis Street in 1841. Jane Scott was married before to John Vickers and had children Jane Vickers (1787 Newcastle),William Vickers (1791 Durham)who was a baker in Deptford, Mary Ann Vickers (1792 Newcastle) Isabella Vickers (1793 Newcastle) who married Joseph Richardson and John Vickers (1796 Newcastle) who married Sarah Like. Al the Vickers lived in Deptford/Woolwich/Greenwich or London.
If any descendants of Turners or Vickers know about ancestry further back especially the family story of being related to a famous painter would be delighted to share my tree.
