Hello!
I have many surnames on my Dads side - ALL from Acri, Cosenza, Calabria.

Turano:
Annunziata TURANO. Married Leonardo ROSA, in Acri mid 1800's. One child Antonio Vincenzo ROSA, (b 1866), married Rosanna DeBartolo (b1871) in 1890.

If familiar at all, let me know as I have more details.
Thanks and lets hope we can help each other!

Hi Charlie:

Both of my grandparents came from Acri but were married here in the USA in 1908. My grandfather was Angelo DeBartolo, he married Immacolata Liguori in Providence, R. I.

My paternal great grandparents were Michele DeBartolo and Francesca Feraco.

Maternal great grandparents were Angelo Liguori & Francesca Grocci.

My paternal great grandparents (DeBartolo) had 8 children, Nunziato, Carmine (Charlie), Vincenzo (James), Guisppe (Joseph), & Angelo...the 3 girls were Teresa, Maria, & Angelina. Most of the boys settled in Westerly, R.I.

It sure sounds like we could be related.

Have you been able to get any records from Acri?

I'm very much interested in the information you have.

The DeBartolo's use to have a family reunion picnic every year but I don't know if they still do that now since Mary DeBartolo passed away.

Sincerely,
Florence
