Hi - I know Louise answered you ... I spoke to Aunt Mary (Uncle Joe's wife) she is in Florida (was last May) and Aunt Julia or Jenny (can't remember which she said) was still alive too. Her son, Joe's wife, Lisa gave us lots of info about family - things I never knew or remembered. I was up in LI over the holidays. Cousins are scattered - would be nice to find everyone again.
Do you live near Louise?

Ciao tutti. I believe the Benigno Tuorto you are refering to is my great grandfather who owned his own barber shop in brooklyn. His son was Antonio Tuorto whose son, my father, is Benjamin Tuorto. Please contact. Mille grazie

Benigno Tuorto, the Brooklyn barber, born in Marzano di Nola, on May 23, 1888, was my 2nd cousin, twice removed. We always thought he was our uncle and were told to call him Uncle Benny. I only learned through genealogy research that he was actually our cousin, not our uncle.

Do you know where in Italy his 2nd wife, Anna Pietraniello, was born? I know they were married in Brooklyn on Jan. 18, 1917, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, which was our family church at the time I was growing up nearby.

I was told your parents had 4 sons. Which one are you?

Ciao Benedette, I am the middle of three boys and i believe my dad, Ben, is your cousin. He had mentioned to me a while back that you were helping track down our family's roots. My aunt and his sister, Roseanne, is also starting to help create a series of family trees for our family to have.

For PTuorto...You and I are 4th cousins, once removed.
I am not Benedette but I have been in touch with her and Anna for quite a few years. I have also heard from Roseanne and would like to get back in touch with her but I have an old email address.
For the last 12 years, I have researched our Tuorto family back to the 1700s. I am happy to share info. You can write to me if you feel like it at genealogy priscilla at yahoo dot com.
