Hi to all Tuohy's!Please excuse any mistakes as I am just learning the computer.I too used to think that there was just a handfull of us in the U.S.A. About 14 years ago I set out to find some relatives, as I thought that there were so few of us that we all must be related some how.I talked to Tuohy's from Maine to Florida and from the east coast to the west coast.I may have talked to some of you or your Parents during the two years of searching. Finally I hit pay dirt in 1984. I found a half brother my father never knew he had and it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to our family. They met each other shortly after that and enjoyed 5 years together before my father passed away.We have become very close to our dear Uncle and see each other as often as we can. We're in Ohio and he lives on the east coast so we don't see much of each other but we burn up the phone lines. My advise to all who are looking for some connection to blood ties is to keep trying! What a wonderful blessing my uncle has been to our family. We also had the pleasure of meeting his wonderful wife who welcomed us into her family like she had known us all her life. We lost her a few years ago but have wonderful memories to last a life time. From what we understand, there were 5 brothers who left Ireland (possibly county Cork). One settled in Chicago, one in New York, and the rest settled on down the east coast. My G.G.Grandfather's name was Michael Tuohy. He had twin boys(John and Richard),Dave,Harry, and two daughters;Annie(possibly known as Margaret) and Mary C. also known as Kattie. John had my uncle by his first marriage, and had my father by his second marriage. According to the grave stone marker my grandfather (John Michael) was born in 1889 and died June of 1921. If this sounds familar to anyone or if any Tuohys want to chat just let me know. It's nice having a bond after all these years. I still believe we're all related somehow. By the way has anyone noticed that there's a Tuohy in the closing credits of the movie Titanic? I believe he played a captain or something like that. Sorry I dont't have the movie here to check on it. But hey, one of us is a semi-famous actor.I'll have to buy the movie and check it out and let you know what part he had. I'm also dying to see what he looks like. Maybe there's some family resembelance! Hope to hear from some or all of you soon.Patty Tuohy Conley

Wow what a great story--maybe there is hope for me.I am also looking info on Tuohy or Twohey from Cork. My grandfather Mike Tuohy was born on Feb. 21, 1911. Mass said at Sp. Peters Church in DC at death. His father was Martin Tuohy, His mother was Bridget Mary O'Garity or perhaps spelled differently. Mike had sister Mamie ( real name could be Mary and she could be related to Sister Mary Adrian former Catherine Burke) He had brother Thomas and one named Hugh. Somehow a son of a son is Dr. John Tuohy. Mike born 1868, died 1911 in Maryland--voted first time in 1911. Can you help me with any of this. Some how there is also a Daisey Logen and Katie Tuohy in the family also.

Tuohy--Patty Tuohy Conley-please read
After reading your message on on april 17, 200. I wonder if you could send me your tree. So many names alike. My grndmother now deceased gave me this info about 20 years ago and I have not made sense of it yet. Her father was Michael Martin Tuohy-1868-1911 born in Cork. Mikes parents Bridget Mary O'Garrity from Roscommon(maybe different name spelling on Garrity) and Timothy Patrick Tuohy from Cork. Timothy Patrick Tuohy or Mike Tuohy had brother Joseph that was last seen in 1965 in Chicago. Mike Tuohy had brothers Thomas that never married , Mamie, and Huey. Now for the strange part when I checked with the Cemetery where Mike is buried (Mt. Olivett in DC) they record his parents as Martin and Mary Tuohy--I know that when my great grandmother died a Dr. John H. Tuohy and also a Thomas L. Tuohy and Mary (Daisey )Touhy Logan attended her furneral. My grandmother had clippings of Sister Mary Adrian formerly Catherine Burke died at age 64 at St. Peters School in Baltimore MD. and note St. Agnes College, Mt. Wash. MD for 13 years. From my mother I learned that Mary Adrian had been invited to my wedding but the order would not allow her to attend. I have a picture of Tuohy's with 5 men including Mike tuohy, 2 ladies one named Kate and 2 children one is my grandmother. Mike owned feed and seed store in S.E. Washinton G st or 11th st. SE. Have note pad with NY addres and ship "LiLac"

Bonnie Jones,The information I have is as follows. My great-grandmother Fanny Booker(possibly cherokee indian)married a Mr. Cox. I don't know his first name.Fanny Booker Cox and Mr. Cox had a daughter named Heneritta. There might have been more but Heneritta is the only one I'm aware of. Shortly before or after Heneritta's birth,Mr.Cox died.Heneritta married a George Tunstall.Fanny Booker Cox later married my great-grandfather,John Michael Tuohy. My great-grandparents had 6 children from what I have been told. There were twin boys,John Michael and Richard. Then there was Dave,Harry,Annie(possibly Margaret)Tuohy Cook, and Mary(Kattie)Tuohy McLeroy. From what I've pieced together John Michael came from Ireland along with his 4 brothers. I have tried for so long to put the pieces together but so far haven't had much luck. I would be thrilled to make connections with other Tuohy's. John M.Tuohy jr.(twin to Richare) was married twice. Once in Richmond Va. and the second time to my grandmother,Pearl Silvey Tuohy. From their marriage my father John S.Tuohy was born.If you find anything here that can help, please let me know.
