Descendants of Gunnar Svendsen Tune, born 1883 in Denmark

Surnames: Tune, Voldby
I am looking for descendants of Gunnar Svendsen Tune and Sarene/Serene/Sørine Voldby, born 1893 in Denmark. They got two sons, Arne Svendsen Tune, born 1920 in California and Harold Svendsen Tune, born 1923 in California.

Arne Svendsen Tune married Alice, and got at least one son, Arne Svendsen Tune Jr., born 1950 in Fresno.

Harold Svendsen Tune first married Shirley, date unknown. Then married Barbara in 1969 in San Luis Obispo, California.

I am looking for living relatives of the aforementioned, since my maternal grandmother was the sister of Sørine Voldby.

Any information are appreaciated, thank you.

Anne Marie Holck of Copenhagen, Denmark

Hi Anne Marie, How fun it is to read your message. Im Hal and Barbara's son David from San Luis Obispo. Let me know if your still interested in looking for descendants. I would be very interested in finding out more about thier parents as I frequently hear the story of the legacy of Anders Svendsen.

In a nutshell: Uncle Arne and Aunt Allice remained married until his death in NC where they had retired to be near children. We never lived nearby I knew him as a wonderful man and she was his equal. Last year Allice also passed. They had two sons and two daughters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren

Harold has one son in Sacramento and grandsons and grandchildren from his first marriage and remains married to Barbara my mom who had a daughter who lives in Seattle and me.

Whew.

Do we have a lot of relatives in DK? I met Tanta Anna, Reighmor and Harold when I was 12, but unfortunately; other than a photograph, i have little recollection of the few days Dad and I were there.

Dad fondly remembers growing up in a Danish Lutheran church, attending Lutheran school in Oakland, and being surrounded by a danish community. He is very proud of his heritage..

Great anticipation to hear from you.

Affectionately,

David Svendsen Tune

Hi David,

So great to hear from you - I have been searching for relatives a long time, and am so happy that I finally succeed :o)

You have a large family in Denmark, and I will tell you all about it. Sørine, Anna and Rigmor, are ½-sisters of my maternal grandmother, Carla, and I am not even sure, if she knew she had sisters in the US. She died in 1976.

Will you please mail me at my email-address aholck@skramsoe.com - I have lots and lots to tell you, and I am so exited to learn about you and the whole family over there.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Your 2nd cousin,
Anne Marie
