Hi!

My greatgreatgrandfather was Samuel Tumblin who married Katherine Shaeffer, both from Stokes County (near Danbury), NC. Samuel, a Civil War veteran, moved to Sullivan County in Upper East Tennessee after the war and later to McMinn County. His ggrandfather may have immigrated through Halifax County, NC. Can you provide the title of your cousins Book on the Tumblins? Or put me in touch with him? Only one modernday Tumblin changed his name to Tomblin, moved to Colorado, then to California.

I, too, am searching for this name. This is my mothers, and grandparents name. My grandfather was Albert Russell Tumblin born in Muskingum cty, and his father was howard russell and his father was John Tumblin forn in 1837. John was married to Eliza Jane Rutherford. Eliza was from Co., Typrone Ireland, but we don't know where John was born. They were married in Coshocton Cty.

It is believed that John's father might be Reubin who married Catherine and the name was spelled Tomlin?
Also, John's bro and sisters? Albert, Mary, Catherine, Reuben, Charles , Sarah Lelah James , Franklin, Jervina, Howard, and Melissa. Belive that Albert was born in Virginia. So was Reubin.
