Tumblesons who married Edgingtons: Lucinda, Cynthia Ann, Nathaniel, Samuel, probably Adams Co OH
Looking for these Tumblesons to see if related to each other, and if so, how. Lucinda (20 May 1842 - 17 Aug 1873) married John Edgington, born about 1836 in Adams Co. Lucinda died in Adams Co. Lucinda & John had Lilly born 1862 and James H born 1870. Cynthia Ann Bennington Tumbleson (so she may be a Tumbleson widow as opposed to direct line) born 1852 married the same John Edgington on 6 Feb 1875. Cynthia & John had William M (b 1878) and Mytra J (b 1880). Samuel Tumbleson married Sarah Edgington (born about 1780 Adams Co) on 10 Dec 1800 in Adams Co. They had Emily, George, Mary, Samuel, Sarah Ann, Ury, Phoebe, Pernina, Brice and Elizabeth. Would like more info on Nathaniel and Mary Edgington also... I'm from another Edgington line, working on loose ends. Thanks, in advance, for any assistance! I have lots of info on a variety of Adams county lines and happy to share.

My third great grandfather was Nathaniel Tumbleson. He married Mary Edgington. From this union is William Tumbleson and then William Riley who came to Illinois after the Civil War. My grandpa William and my dad Bill. I can probably help with any loose ends on this line of the Tumbleson family.

Hi, Brock! Who were Nathaniel's parents? Do you have dates/places for him? Is he related to Samuel? How about to Lucinda and Cynthia Ann? I have info on Mary Edgington's family, if you're interested. Thanks for responding!

The Mormon LDS records show a Nathaniel TOMLINSON (b. 1774 Greene Co., PA) married married a Mary Edgington ( b. 1778 Adams Co. OH ). They had 10 children. Also the Draper papers, Halls expedition, Capt. Krnton quotes Nathaniel Tomlinson, the son of John Tomlinson, on his exploits. Is this the same family?

Nathaniel (my 4th great grandfather) and Samuel were brothers who married Edgington sisters. I have tons on this family, and Nathaniel's father WAS John Tomlinson/Tumbleson. If you would like to share info, my e-mail address is georgiamay00@yahoo.com. I would really like to see these Draper papers and the reference to Nathaniel. Where can I find them?

Re: Tumblesons who married Edgingtons: Lucinda, Cynthia Ann, Nathaniel, Samuel, probably Adams Co OH
Mary Edgington was married to Nathaniel Tumbleson who was the older brother of Samuel who married Sarah. John Tunbleson was their father and Sarah Throughman was the mother. Their five children Nathaniel 1777, Samuel 1779, Priscilla 1781, Sarah 1783 and Elizabeth 1789 were all baptized in 1789 at Redstone Fort near Brownsvile in Fayette County in Pa. They went from there to Greene co. in Pa then Mason Co. in Ky before settling in Adams co. Ohio Nathaniel and Mary had a son, Abel, born in 1863. He had I believe 12 children by two wives. One was Nathaniel, the 2nd.b 1839 who married a Annariah Donaldson in 1867. they had two children after he returned from the Civil War. Cora Belle B 1868 and Elmer b 1870. Elmer was my grandfather--he later changed his name to James Elmer Tumbleson after he migrated to Kansas and then in 1908 to Oregon. He married Lydia Lucinda Douthit in Ohio on 12/25/1893 and they had seven children. They are both buried in Forest Grove, Oregon. I have both earlier and later data if you desire
