His niece Eva is typing this, Uncle Addy is very feeble and ubable to spell well. He lives in a log cabin that the "boys" helped him build. He rambles on about names I've never heard before. We don't know if he's having flashbacks or fantasies. Without telling you exactly where for his protection, It is very close to the Big River in House Springs, Mo. Do you know where that is? He came here when he was 20 or so, we don't know his actual age. He was trying to get away from the wars in the old country at the time. He joined a fraternal organization but can't remember the name. It had something to do with woodcutters or something, and basically was an excercise group, like the turnvereens or turners, if you know what I mean.He managed a large tract of ground for a man named Greensfelder. He says the Tuhroes were the wildest bunch he ever met! Never really in trouble but right on the verge with their mischief. He remembers an August And Albert and another one whose name escapes him. This one changed his name(last) quite a few times while Addy knew him. Back then Addy said a lot of people did that, hoping it would help them getting employment. Addy went back to the fatherland in '39, and lost contact with the boys until he came back in '46. He doesn't like to talk about what he did over there for 7 years, except that he wasn't a soldier. He came back here and started a a small chemical company with a fellow he calls "Queeny" and went broke. He's worked at many things in his lifetime, but was never sucessful at any of these. Last year I bought him a computer to keep his mind from going dim. Now it seems the whole world is in his pocket. He's trying hard to remember some of these things, but at his age (100-105)it's a miracle he has any memory at all. About the only thing he does physical any more is make wine and drink wine. That's all for now hope we did'nt bore you.

Just a note. Addy said , when he came back, The boys sons took him in for a while. Albert had died before he went back to fatherland, so Gustof(?)and Frederick put him up for a while. Doesn't know what happened to the other one. Nobody would talk about it.

Hi---I have lived in St. Louis all fo my life.
I am 54 years old. And yes I Know where you are talking about House springs is really not that far. My Father's name was Albert--born in 1913 (I think). I'll have to have my brother Art write to you, he has searched and found out quite a bit about our history. It is very exiting to be talking to you.

Addy says your father must be a son or nephew of the boys he's been talking about. The Albert he knew had a stroke or hemmorage long before the 2nd war. He thinks his Albert had 5-6 kids, wife named Lola or Lottie or something like that.
