Hi everyone connected to the Tuffields,
I am also living in Australia, however, I am connected through Fanny Tuffield my great grandmother. Her father was Henry third son of Rigdon. Would love to hear from anyone to share notes. Sue Simspon

Hi Chris,

Are you related to Peter Tuffield from Bundaberg? I know he had 3 sons - 2 were named Matthew and Daniel, I can't remember the name of the 3rd. I do know he was a very talented rugby league player though and quite popular with the ladies.

Good luck with your family research.

Hello Chris, I just stumbled upon your post all the way from "2001", wow. Anyway, my great grand father was a "Albert Spikin Tuffield" born in 1873 in Kent, Maidstone, England. His mother is Caroline Amelia Tuffield also from Kent i believe, and she was born in the early 1800's, I believe. Well, my GGGF Albert traveled from Kent to Peru South America in the late 1800's sometime and then moved to Chile South America where he married a Scottish lady. My Dad is the 2nd generation of English that came to Chile. However, my Dad immigrated from Chile to the United States in the 1960's. I was born in Dallas, TX in 1974. So, that is my story in a nutshell. It is interested to know the origins of the surname "Tuffield". I wonder if it is Anglo Saxon, Celtic, Nordic or of Norman lineage? Who knows, I need to do more studying. If you have anymore information, feel free to email me alan.spikinator@mail.com. Cheers from Dallas, TX.
