Hello Chris, I just stumbled upon your post all the way from "2001", wow. Anyway, my great grand father was a "Albert Spikin Tuffield" born in 1873 in Kent, Maidstone, England. His mother is Caroline Amelia Tuffield also from Kent i believe, and she was born in the early 1800's, I believe. Well, my GGGF Albert traveled from Kent to Peru South America in the late 1800's sometime and then moved to Chile South America where he married a Scottish lady. My Dad is the 2nd generation of English that came to Chile. However, my Dad immigrated from Chile to the United States in the 1960's. I was born in Dallas, TX in 1974. So, that is my story in a nutshell. It is interested to know the origins of the surname "Tuffield". I wonder if it is Anglo Saxon, Celtic, Nordic or of Norman lineage? Who knows, I need to do more studying. If you have anymore information, feel free to email me
