Frederick Samuel Tuffield born 1849 in Shoreditch, married Rosa Fanny Purver 1882 in Hackney, died 1939 Halstead, Essex.
His father on his marriage certificate is Francis Tuffield (deceased) and there is also a witness Thomas Tuffield.
Does anybody have any Tuffields in Middlesex which may help me further.

Most of our Tuffields ancestors were from the Norwich area.
My grandfathers name was Thomas Cecil Silwood Tuffield born 17.2. 1987. His father was Thomas Elijah Tuffield and mother Margaret Ellen Smyth - married in 1885. Found some relatives in Australia and would like to contact any other people related to this side of the Tuffields

Your Thomas Tuffield is not the one I want! He was born too late. All of my Tuffields were born in Middlesex and I am having great difficulty now progressing this!

My family and myself live in australia and we are the tuffield family that originally came from england. I'll have to ask my father from where abouts in england, but my grandfather (my dads dad) arthur tuffield comes from a family in england. My grandfather was born in india (i think the family went there for a hoilday or to live, then he was born), then eventually moved to australia where he married joan. my father is peter tuffield who married margaret eglington. I don't know if this is related to you or the same tuffields but i thought since tuffield is a pretty rare name we might be somehow related :)

We probably are somewhere along the line. Please send me your email address and I will give you access to my family tree which is on www.ancestry.co.uk. My earliest Tuffield is Francis Tuffield born in the East End of London around the early 1800's. On a marriage certificate I have a Thomas Tuffield as a witness to the marriage but am unaware as to the relationship between Thomas and the groom Frederick Tuffield (from whom I am a direct descendant).

g'day again,
sorry for the long delay - ive been quite busy with work and other 'life' situations haha but i re-found this site so thought id post a couple notes.
If you'd like to get in contact with myself, my work email is Matthew.Tuffield@nrw.qld.gov.au or home matttuffis@hotmail.com

just recently my uncle updated our family tree which dates back to 1708 - as far as i can see all our ancestors came from around the norwich area. however thats not to say that before 1708 a relative moved to middlesex or london etc. I believe i am related to that other person who posted 'andrew' as the names he stated are in the family tree that i have.

anyway ill be happy to post our family tree to you if you wish and you can have a look to see if theres any links.

matt.

I would love to have a look at the family tree you mentioned, to see if we tie in anywhere. I have come to a "Tuffield" dead end at the moment. Off to see my Grandfather Tuffield this afternoon, currently aged 89! The Tuffield name for us will be coming to an end, as all generations have been female or males who haven't reproduced!

I'm a Tuffield, originally from London. Our branch, too, had either females or males with no children. I married and kept my name. I have a detailed family tree, if you are interested. K9Angel9@AOL.com
