Surnames: Tuffery, Wood, Eden
Trying to match up Goodin Spires Tuffery to his parents and siblings. He was born 1780 in Waterman, Chesterton, Oxfordshire, England. He was married to "Ann". They lived in Mylor, Cornwall, England. He was recorded on the 1841 and 1851 Census in Mylor. I'm related to his daughter Ann Tuffery who first married William Eden and later William John Wood in 1837.

Hello tnpryors
I'm a descendant of William John Wood and have been researching my family tree. Have got back as far as William.
Are you related to Anne's first husband, William Eden, or her second,William John Wood?

My husband is a Wood, a descendant of William John Wood born in 1846 who married Elizabeth Jane Lawrence. I've ordered numerous records from the GRO, so have hints at who is the father of the elder William John Wood b. 1810. When William b. 1810 married Ann (Tuffery) Eden he stated his father was a William Wood, a Hair Dresser. The occupation has mystified me because I feel it's a strong clue-- was he actually a wig maker or styler, was hair dressing only for the wealthy, was he in the navy or military like so many of his descendants? If other records are correct William was born 1810 at Sheerness, Isle of Sheppy. Have you had any luck finding older generations of Woods?

Wow that's amazing. I'm a descendant of William John Wood b 1810. I've spectacularly failed to get back any further but if you've been able to find that his father was a Hair Dresser/wig maker etc then thats a major success.

I've a powerpoint slide that shows the family tree from my point of view - unfortunately I can't attach it so if interested e mail me direct and I'll send it over (chris.wood@fsmail.net).
Kind Regards.
