Re: Tuenge generation in Germany
It was so nice to see a posting for Tuenge. My branch is based in St. Louis: Hermann Tuenge first located to US around 1912 - census for Baltimore, MD: Hermann and Albertina and two children, Walter and Erich. After birth of two children, Ernst and Theodor, they returned to Germany, but returned to St. Louis area at end of 1920's. Herman was born in Labes, Pom and Albertina in Melon, Pom. Hermann was second eldest of 6 boys and 1 girl. Albert - the oldest was an architect and owner of lumber mill, William or Willie was postmaster in Berlin, Julius was a painter and after relocation to St. Louis, was interior designer and painter for churches and hotels in Missouri and Illinois. Other children I do not know. Hermann's parents: Karl Tuenge and Wilhelmina Kuehl. Julius married Anna and they had daug: Charlotte Anna Herta who married Marion Waggoner in 1939 and after teaching in various places, settled in Wayne, NE in 1962 and was Asst Prof. at Wayne State Teachers College. Her dau. Charlotte Anna who was a student at Un of Kansas in 1968. It was my belief that Anna Tuenge was keeping a history of family, but that was long ago. I do hope that we can help each other out. I will be glad to share email add. if it would help.

Re: Tuenge generation in Germany
My father was Otto August Tuenge who was from Nebraska. He had a relative named Karl and Theodore. He is deceased now but his little sister Roma Lavato lives in Claremont WY. I cannot remember my grandparents names as they died young in Nebraska but I remember the Reiser side of the family that settled in Montana and Wyoming. An Aunt Minnie, and Robert/bob Reiser. Hope this helps. Linda (Tuenge) Bixler Bremerton WA USA

Re: Tuenge generation in Germany
I hope you can get onto my family tree (the Tuenge-Calhoun, etc.), go to "Home person," and look at the siblings of "my" Tuenge's because there is an "Otto" that MUST be you Otto . . .

Re: Tuenge generation in Germany
Hi, I noticed you message on Ancestry.com and I am related to you thru the Reisers. My Dad was Carl Reiser and Emma Reiser Tuenge was his older sister. I would really like to get updated on your family. I have put a book together of the Reisers and when I get it updated would share the information. I have some of Roma's and some of your fathers but would like updates. Thank you

Re: Tuenge generation in Germany
I am wondering if August and Augusta Wilhelmina had an older daughter that came to Minnesota before the rest of the family. I think Henriette Fredricka Von Tunenge, immigrated from Brandenburg, Germany on May 18 1885. She boarded alone, paid her own ticket and was 23 years old. She came to Plymouth Minnesota and died after marrying John Fitzer and parenting three children. The second oldest child, Alvina Fitzer had Roselina Sandhoff, who is my great-grandmother. Alvina was raised by John Fitzer's second wife.
I think this is the same family, as they ALL lived in Plymouth Minnesota.
