I have Ella as the daughter of Darius Tuell and Hester Ann Worrell. Darius was a Civil War Vet and Hester died when Ella was young about 1869. Ella lived with her aunt Theodocia "Dosha" Tuell-Bowling for some time after her mother passed. They lived close to Lottich's Corner near Elizabeth, Harrison Co., IN. When Dosha got old she lived with Ella and Henry in New Albany. Ella had three full siblings Henrietta "Ettie" married Wm Simms, Charles B., and William Alverta and twin half brothers Dennis and David. I hope this helps. Darius, Hester, and Charles B. and his wife Wealthy Stevens are buried at Cedar Hill cemt., in Corydon, IN.

I appreciate the information. Do you know what Hester died from? Did her father pass when she was young too? You mention Lottich's corner, what is that? I am researching the Lottich line and have never heard of this. Any additional information would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why Hester died. Ella's father Darius didn't pass away until 1904. His obit says he died of stomach trouble. During that time a young girl was usually raised by a close female relative after her mother passed. Her aunt Dosha never had children and was the likely choice to raise Ella Elizabeth. Dosha's obit says she had made her home with her niece, Mrs. Henry P. Lottich in New Albany for the past 10 years before her death in 1912.
Lottick's Corner Road is a stretch of road that runs north of the town of Elizabeth, Harrison Co., IN. It may be the area Conrad Lottich lived in.
