I, too, am from the Daniel Tuel line of Monroe County, Ohio. Am interested if you have found proof that William Tuel is actually the father of Daniel. What Tuel line to you descend from? I am from Daniel Tuel and Polly Main and then their son Daniel Tuel who married Dianna Knight.

Line of descent. Daniel Tuel to Presley Tuel I to Presley Tuel II to Hiram Wilson Tuel to my father George Marshall Tuel. My records show Daniel's father to be William Tuel who migrated to Monroe County, Ohio, specifically, Marietta, from Bull Run, Fairfax County, Virginia. Can you go back further than William?

Helen, my line of descendent is Daniel Tuel and Mary Main; their son Daniel Tuel and Dianna KNIGHT; and their son Elmore Tuel and Ida HOSKINSON who are my great grandparents;
Have primary record proof for children of Daniel Tuel and Mary Main; cannot find proof of parents for Daniel, but suspect it is William; most researchers that I have been in contact with offer info written on family group sheets as proof, but there are no references as to where info was obtained; do believe however, that the Tuels are from the Bull Run area of Virginia.
Am interested in your Pressley as a Pressley is listed in an 1850 census record as probably son of Daniel, but he is not included in the estate settlement of Daniel. Several Tuel researchers have tried to find a connection between a Levi Tuel of Pleasants Co. WVA and Pressley Tuel of Minnesota as several of Levi's children were in same area as Pressley in Minnesota.

You may contact me privately if you like as we probably have much to discuss. email is jlconn@lex.infi.net

My family has Pressley Tuel as the son of Presley Tuel (born 1796 in VA) and Mary Bell. I'm not sure if this helps, but I hope so!

Hi! I don't know if you know us, but I'm the granddaughter of Arnold Tuell, a son of Wilson Hiram and Lelia Fairchild. I've been scrambling to find some information on W.H. and have only found some Military and Census records. Any info you'd like to share?

I am a Great-Great grand daughter of Anastasia Tuel who married James Bigens Fullton (the revolutionary war soldier). You can view their tombstones from the York County, Yorkville, South Carolina cemetary. Daniel Asbury Fullton, b 5 Aug 1804 was a son of Anastasia (
Tuel) Fullton. I have a Fullton (Fulton) family tree; but you must be searching for TUEL records.

Hi Helen,

It has been MANY years since we exchanged info, and never heard back from you. I hope all is well. I am your Tuel cousin via Presley Tuel, through his daughter Caroline Tuel. Caroline's only sibling, Presley Tuel Jr., was born several months AFTER their fathers death. Presley Tuel Sr. was killed while felling a tree. Presley Jr. ended up in Winona, MN and Caroline Tuel Palmer remained in Iowa. Their mother, Mary Bell, remarried Nelson Wallace, and had more children. If anyone is from this line, please contact me. I have been looking for many years on the ancestry of these Tuel's to no avail. Daniel Tuel was Presley Sr.'s father. Daniel's father believed to be William but no proof. Census records for Daniel Tuel Jr., but cannot locate Daniel Tuel St. or WIlliam. Of course, as all TUel researchers know, the TUel name is spelled MANY different ways, including, but not limited to, Jewel, Tull, Tole, Tull, Tulle, O'Tool, Tool, Twell, Toll, Tolle, Tuell, Jewl, etc....If anyone has anything new on the Tuel's that is substantiated please post.
