Tudge connection

Hi

My great grandmother was Margaret Ellen Tudge, born 1866 in Little Hulton (near Bolton). She was the daughter of Moses (b.1845), who was the son of William (b.circa 1816) - son of Thomas (a possible Luddite!). This information is mostly from Dave Lane - without whom I wouldn't have got this far. Cheers Dave!

Now... which ones of you are my relatives? :-)

Hi Dilys

I've been looking at my Tudges again lately and it looks like Moses only died in 1931. I wonder if any photographs exist?

Was your grandmother a twin? I have Mary along with Martha born in the same year (1883) - although I note that a Martha Tudge died in infancy the same year (as per Jeff's GRO database).

Please contact me off forum and we'll see what we can put together with this line.

Regards - Dave

Dave/Dyls,

The evidence points to them being twins. I have emailed you both with this information.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to post your message. I am sure that this may be the William Tudge im looking for. It is the same William that appears on Jeff's GRo Database, but at least the baptism reference gives me another angle to work on hopefully. I have managed to also locate a Richard tudge, whom I believe could be Williams grandfather, but as he died before the census, I am having trouble progressing back further than William.

But we will get there with determination and perserverance. lol.

Thanks again for the info, it is appreciated.

Dave
