I'm researching the TUDELA family of Cadiz, Spain and Puerto Rico. Jose TUDELA (b. 17 Oct. 1829) and Isabel TUDELA (b. 29 Jan. 1832), both baptized Ntra. Sra. del Rosario in Cadiz, Cadiz, Spain. Their parents: Bartolome TUDELA GARCIA and Leonor CESAR LOBO. Paternal grandparents: Bartolome TUDELA and Isabel GARCIA. Maternal grandparents: Jose CESAR and Mariana LOBO.

Jose TUDELA and Isabel TUDELA immigrated to Puerto Rico by the early 1850s. Isabel died in 1858, Juana Diaz. Jose died in 1893, Ponce, PR.

Looks like we have english and german blood in us.

Wish you luck.

Hello. I am a Tudela but I am from the Philippines. My grandfather is Luis de Tudela who was a Spanish soldier that came to settle here during the latter portion of the Spanish colonial period. I am also looking for my grandfather's ancestors to trace his roots and to hopefully lead to other surviving relatives in any part of the globe. God bless!

Hi Janet,

We have traced our Tudela roots. Francisco Tudela was a spanish governor of Zambuanga in the philippines. He later move to Guam in the Marianas Islands and married a local. I can get the date of these events later.

Noticed my email address: fjec46@vzpacifica.net.

Keep in touch if you are interested in learning some more.

Frank

Hi Janet,

I need to fly back to Saipan. Only one family stayed back in Guam and the rest move to Saipan. The Mayor of Saipan is Juan Borja Tudela and he is my late mother's brother. Their grandfather's name is Francisco Ramirez Tudela. Great grandfather is a Del rosario Tudela.

Regards,

Frank

I'm also researching Juan Tudela/Tudla family that emigrated from Tudela, Navarre, Spain (according to grandson)to the Philippines. He married in the Phillipines and one of his daughter was born in 1912.

I was wondering if in the 7 years that has passed since this message you might have more information regarding the Tudela Family,

Thanks,

Carole

Hi Frank,

My husband and I are working on our family trees and found that you are a distant relative! Vince's grandfather is Roman M. Tudela. The mayor you mentioned in the post is my husband's uncle, as well.

We'd like to find out more information. Our email is joleendrodriguez@gmail.com. Can you share your tree with us? We'd appreciate the help!

Thank you!

Hi Frank,

I am trying to look more into our family tree. I have the geneology book from the family reunion of 2000. I read on this thread that Francisco was a governor in the Philippines. Can you tell me where this is found? I heard accounts that there were three Tudela's that came from Spain. One went to the Philippines, one to Guam, and one to Saipan. Maybe this wasn't Francisco, but his descendants Jose?

From what I read here, Francisco moved to Saipan and married a local, which would be Josefa de la Cruz Anderson. According to records I found, she died on Guam. Jose, Francisco and Josefa's child, was born on Guam.

I've heard as well that we have English and German blood. Can you explain where you know or heard this? My father says that we have Irish blood, and my aunt (his sis) says it is Scottish. Who knows, from immigrating it could be either one, but if it is based on the name "Anderson", the origin is Irish.

I would like to go farther back than Francisco, Anderson and de la Cruz.

Any other info you could give me would be appreciated. Anyone out there…

Thank you!
