I am trying to clarify a discepancy in most of the tuddenham family trees relating to David James Tuddenham (my grand father)who married Harriet Dunn in 1899 in Ballarat,Victoria, Australia.

Davids parents were David Tuddenham b. 1853 and Elizabeth Durham. Most family trees indicate that David James married a Sarah Sharp. However Victorian BDM records indicate that a David John married Sarah Sharp.

As this discrepancy effectively removes my entire family line from the records, I was wondering if anyone could supply any information to assist.

Interestingly, Sarah Jane Scharp appears as a witness on my Grandfathers Certificate of Marriage

I have just begun looking at ancestory. My grandfather was born in Ballarat. He came to New Zealand as a young man and married my grandmother in Wellington. His mother was Susannah Tuddenham from Gooderstone, Norfolk. They were near the goldmines in Australia and he came looking for gold over here.
