Well, I have to say this is one more different way to see this name spelled!
I have seen it spelled Tuczek and Tluczek.
Both pronounced as 2 check. Any relation? Who knows, I do know that my family had came from Poland in the mid 1930's. And the 2 check's are in NY, CA, MI, and IL.

Hello,
My sister was married to a Tucek from Canyon, Texas. His fathers name was Raymond Tucek, the story was always told that Raymonds father and a brother stoled away on a ship to come to America, when they landed in New York they got split up and never knew what happened to each other. My sister always looked in phone books to see if she could find that name.
I also was told the the name Tucek was Bohemian. If you need to contact me my e-mail is jssteele@pldi.net
Thanks, Sandra

My mother's maiden name was Patricia Tucheck. I don't know much about my mom's family because she told me they dis-owned her when she was a young adult. She stated that because they were strict catholics and she was divorcing, they would have nothing to do with her. My mother divorced in 1972. I was born in 1970. Patricia Tucheck passed in 1988. The only thing I know about my Tucheck history is that my great grandparents (and other family Tucheck's) resided in Minnesota. I don't know exactly where, who, or how much of my Tucheck history is in Minnesota? My mom had 3 brothers: Frank (dead), John, and Greg Tucheck. They all lived or live in California. I don't see them at all, and I'm not really interested in contacting them. I would like to know a little about my past though, so I started researching the Tucheck name on the internet and found this web-site. If any of this story sounds familiar, please let me know.

Although I'm most familiar with the TUCEK spelling but some of my relatives also use the spelling TUTSCHEK...The Tuceks were Czech Protestants that had settled around Zelow Poland and then subsequently many had to move back to the former Czechoslovakia or abroad after WWII..I have just recently come across a letter written circa 1945/46 from Emil Tucek or his wife who apparently was living in Chicago on Christiana Ave at that time...I would appreciate if any one has more info.
