Hi Debra,
According to information which I received from you in 2002, her husband was George B. Richards (18Dec1869-12Mar1947). I have his record posted at http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?o...
Is this not the correct information?
Thanks!!

I recently found a marriage record for Mary E. Witherite as follows:
Name: Mary E Witherite
Parents: Barney S Witherite , Elmira Tubbs
Birth Place: Clearfield, Ferguson Twp, Pennsylvania
Birth Date: 1878
Marriage Place: Clearfield
Marriage Date: 21 September 1903
Where as my Great Grandparents, George Richards and Mary R. Witherite b. 1872 were married February 11, 1892 in Clearfield County. My Great Grandmother Mary Witherite already had three children before 1903.
In light of this new information, I would have to say that if the marriage record above is correct, Mary R. Witherite and Mary E. Witherite are not the same person. Futhermore, that would mean that my Great Grandmother, Mary R. Witherite would not be the daughter of Barney Witherite and Elmira Tubbs.
However, Clearfield County is sending me the marriage applications and copy of license were applicable for both Mary Witherites. As soon as I receive that information, I will let you know of those findings.
There are times when new information comes along that makes you back up and head in a different direction. But, to completely ignore it I believe would would be the greater mistake.
Thanks for your reply to my question.

It is safe to assume, since I haven't been able to find this marriage record stated online some years back on the Clearfield County marriage of 1903, that it was a transcription error. We recently had our DNA done (via my brother) and it confirms that we indeed are from the Michael Witherite and Barbara Ellen Graybill line. This discovery was only possible when a Witherite family member had their DNA done which matched to ours. Since we do have a confirmed match through DNA testing, I will add this line to our online tree. My new email address is debrakit10@roadrunner.com if you would like to share info. Kindest Regards, Debra Richards
