Searching for Trzeciakiewicz...

Surnames: Trzeciakiewicz; Bialoglowa; Dunaj; Federowicz

Hi. I'm digging up my family history, and am currently trying to sort out my maternal grandfather's family - Trzeciakiewicz. Apparently, I am also learning how to effectively post threads on a message board... this is my first, so excuse the really long message that follows...

My grandfather, Michael, was born in 1911 (in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA); his father, also Michal, was born Abt 1874 in what I believe to have been Russian Poland then, and Belarus today. In fact, I am fairly certain both him and his future wife, Michalina Bialoglowa (b Abt 1887), and various members of both families came from around Iwje (Iuje today, east of Lida, SE of Vilnius) - more specifically, Starczenieta. I was excited to see a previous post mentioning Piotrowicze (which is approximately 5-10 km from Starczenieta).

In my searching of passenger lists, census data, as well as some family notes, I keep running into a few similar surnames (including Bialoglowa, Dunaj, and Federowicz), yet I'm having trouble piecing it all together... and having very little luck with surname Trzeciakiewicz.

As of right now, I don't know if my great-grandfather Michal Trzeciakiewicz had siblings who emigrated from the Iwje area or not (although it looks like his mother Emilja came over about 1929 to visit?). I know Michalina Bialoglowa had at least one sister Magdalena (who married a Dunaj) and also came to New Jersey.

I am looking for help. But I also think it would be cool to connect with cousins??? (don't worry, I am not looking for an invite to the next holiday!)... just tracing my history.

Dennis

Possible Sibling to Michal Trzeciakiewicz.

Michilina Trzeciakiewicz
Birth 23 dec 1889 in Vilno, Poland (Now Lithuania)
Death 27 Dec 1951 inPlainfield, New Jersey

I'm doing a family tree for a friend who's grandmother was Michilina Trzeciakiewicz - husband Josef Oszeyczik. They met at a catholic church in Jersey City. According to my friend's mother, Michilina's daughter, Michilina spent time in Jersey City before getting married and moving to Plainfield with her husband. She knows that her mother, Michilina, had a younger brother but she doesn't know what his name was. She also states that Michilina's mother died giving birth the the younger son.. who I suspect is your Michael born 1890ish. I'm struggling with the surname as well... trying to find information.
