Trzaska never missed her nephew's Holy Ghost Prep basketball games. On Friday night she was at the Holy Ghost-Moon Area state title game in Hershey, Pa.

After the game, at about 11 p.m., Trzaska was crossing an intersection when she was struck and killed by a 1999 blue Saab, driven by a 16-year-old boy, Derry Township police said. Police were investigating the case.

Trzaska was 59 and lived in Southampton, Bucks County, for the past 16 years. Born in Northeast Philadelphia, she graduated from Little Flower High School and Gwynedd Mercy College. She had been a teacher for 21 years.

The students, teachers and parents at St. Martha's, where Trzaska had taught for 17 years, are devastated.

"She just touched everyone's life - the children and faculty," Stulz said. "She was a very popular person because of her kindness."

Before coming to St. Martha's in 1986, she was a substitute teacher at Christ the King School, Our Lady of Grace School and St. Christopher's School.

Trzaska is survived by her husband of 38 years, Stanley M.; a son, Timothy; a daughter, Amy N.; her sister, Roseanna Pakyz; and a grandson.
