Hi,
I'm that man ;-). I have found the Trybom name popping up in church records when I was researching my own ancestors in those parishes in northern Kalmar län and southern Östergötland.
It seems that the Trybom name comes from a Skipper named Peter Trybom born Feb 11 1737. He came from a parish called Tryserum in south east Östergötland. I am sure he took his name from the first syllabel of his parish Try-serum.
The last part of the name is common in swedish names. It literally means bar or gate, but that meaning is kind of lost in the name.
Peter Trybom lived on a farm called Porsnäs in Trysebom and was married to
Maria Lindberg born April 12 1852 (dead aug 27 1822)
children were
daughter Lotta Trybom (can not read the birth date)
son Jacob Trybom born Nov 15 1771
son Olaus Trybom born May 7 1770
Jacob Trybom was married to
Beata Skinnerberg born oct 31 1774
their children were
daughter Lovisa Trybom born jan 17 1799
son Adolph Trybom born June 18 1802
son Petter Trybom born Sept 30 1804
daughter Lotta Trybom born Nov 7 1808
son Gustaf Trybom born may 13 1811
son Johan Fredrik Trybom born sept 15 1814
Gustaf Trybom was married feb. 9 1839 to
Catharina Nilsdotter from Äpperum in Ukna parish born feb 21 1822 in Lofta parish.
They had a son Adolf Wilhelm Trybom born june 10 1839 in Äpperum, Ukna. It seems that Adolph was still living in Porsnäs after the marriage, while his young wife and son stayed in Äpperum.
Olaus Trybom (the other son of Petter Trybom) was married to
Greta Andersdotter born march 1868
they had a son Johan Trybom born June? 18 1894.
Then he remarried to Annatolia Leander? born 1782 (I think)
they had a daughter Anna Stina Olofsdotter born 1815
Coming back to Peter Trybom. I have found his birth (hard to read) and death record. From this I have
Peter Månsson Trybom born feb 11 1737 on the farm Toverum in Tryserum parish, death dec 17 1818 in Porsnäs, Tryserum.
Father MÃ¥ns Olsson, mother Kersti Larsdotter.
Grandfather Olof Carlsson (1663-1737) (from the link below).
A search on the internet shows that a swedish lady Inger Göransson is researching this family. I am sure that if you contact her she would be delighted.
The link to her request is here (in swedish) and her email is
