I have an Elizabeth Truland married to an ANDREW MCCOY. He was an alderman in Illinois. If you have a subscription to Newspapers.com, his name appears a lot on official notices because of his occupation as an alderman. I do not have any children listed for them.
Elizabeth's (in some records listed as eliza) parents were Elizabeth/Mary Murray 1780-1878 and Phillip John Trolin 1775-1887. Elizabeth's mother came to the US with her sons (1840) and they changed the name to Truland. One brother (I believe Thomas), spelled it Trueland. They settled in Lowell, VT. Hope this helps!
KRisty

hi, i've traced my Trueland family back to Ireland, Patrick is my direct ancestor, but i believe that William Trueland, (1780 - 1874) also from Ireland, arrived in NJ and has descendants there today. he is buried in Bordentown Cemetary, NJ. I'll share whatever i have if it will help anyone. I have information on UK, USA & Australian Truelands.

Duncan Trueland, Scotland.
I have done a lot of work on the Truland line in NH, VT and Canada and NJ. If you send me an email, I can give you a link to my tree.
this is my husband's family and they are descended from Phillip John Trolin in IReland. His sons changed the name to Truland (1 Trueland) upon coming to America.
If you a do a Google search for Truland Brook, VT, it was named after one of Phillip's sons who lived in that area (near Lowell). since you mentioned Lowell, I'm sure it is the same line. You can give me more details here or throo my email. I'll help any way I can.
KRisty Truland

Hello Sharon Stark:

I am Wanda Connors (McCoy) Davis and my great grandmother was Eliza Truland, who married my great grandfather, Alexander J. McCoy on June 19, 1854 at St Mary's Cathedral in Burlington, VT.

I am trying to obtain information on the Truland family. Would you share what information you have with me?

Sincerely, Wanda Davis, aka mswanda@yahoo.com

Have you come across any information about an Elizabeth Truland who married an Alexander J. McCoy and moved from either New Hampshire or Vermont( with a small daughter, presumed to be Elizabeth McCoy Flanagan, oldest of two) to Illinois in approximately 1865?

I am desperately trying to locate family info and have only blank walls. She was my maternal ggmother, mother of my gmother, Mary McCoy, her younger daughter who died at 26 in or around city of Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois.

My father was Henry Truland, Nettie's brother. I have been working on family tree and am trying to tie my great grandfather, Thomas Truland to his parents unsuccessfully. I think they were William L and Jean W. Truland but have no proof. I have heard that he was born in Paterson, NJ in 1830 and know they were all living in Troy, NY in 1855 but in different homes. They are all buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
Warren Truland
