Hi, I'm hunting the Tribbitt family in and around the MD-DE area. Some of the more distant relatives used the Tribbett spelling. Does anyone know the story? I'm wondering if my ancestors just had problems with spelling!! I'd appreciate any help anyone could offer.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi William,
Where do your Tribbett line run into MD. I am trying to connect my John Tribbett who married in MD. The mortality schedule has him born in VA. My Tribbett's were prominent in VA. No one has been able to find anything on John's family. Next to him in the 1800 census is a widow which I think is his mother. The Tribbett's were condensed in NJ and DE. I am thinking John is linked to one of these families.

Does Jeremiah or Victor Husband Tribbitt ring a bell. How about Betty Jane Tribbitt or Betty Jane Hammond?. They were from the Millington, MD or Smyrna or Harrington, DEL. area. We have lost contact with all of that side of my husbands family who still live in Del. All responses answered! Thanks.
