John Garvin Trial 1792, VA
Hello,
I'm looking for information on the Trial family of Virginia. Specifically, on John Garvin Trial who was born 20 November 1792 in Virginia, married Elizabeth Bowman on 28 December 1812 in Albemarle, Virginia and died 20 March 1850 in Peoria County, Illinois. I know that his father was David Trial and his mother was Mary Turner, but that's all the information I have about his parents and no information on his siblings. I would appreciate any information you could share with me on my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. Thank you! Lorie Trial Mosteller

Re: John Garvin Trial 1792, VA
HI, MY 3 GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS JOHN GAVIN TRIAL. MY 2 GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS ROBERT TRIAL MARRIED TO CASSANDRA (COSINDIA). I HAVE SEEN ON THE INTERNET ON TERISHA TURNER'S FAMILY TREE A DAVID TRYALL (TRIALL) THAT WAS MARRIED TO MARY TURNER. I THINK THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER BRANCH OF THE FAMILY TREE. I ALSO FOUND THE OBITUARY FOR CASSANDRA TRIAL. I AM STILL SEARCHING, IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SHARE I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION. IT'S LIKE A TREASURE HUNT! KATHY

Hi Kathy,
It sounds like we're of the same generation. My Great Grandfather was Robert Henry Trial II and my Grandfather was Claud Herald Trial. Which of Robert Henry Trial I children do you descend from?

HI, It does sound like the same generation! My father was Francis Pilkington, His mother was Pearl Smith, her mother was Mary Jane Trial, her father was Robert Trial, his father was John G. Trial. My husband and I are planning a trip to Virginia in March and will do some research while we're there. Any advice or information before we go would be appreciated! Kathy

Re: John Garvin Trial 1792, VA
I'm trying to help a friend get into DAR through Stephen Turner who was the father of Mary Turner that married David Tryall/Trial. You said you knew that Mary and David were the parents of John Garvin Trial who married Eliazabeth Bowman. This is the only missing link of proof we need for my friend to apply for DAR. If you are related to this family you would qualify too, or maybe you are already a member. I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Hi- just read your post about the parents of John Garvin Trial, his parents David Trial/Mary Turner & her father, Stephen Turner. John is my ggggrandfather. I'm finally getting around to do family searches and find it to be a new passion. Please let me know about joining the DAR. Thanks, Randy

Re: John Garvin Trial 1792, VA
Jane Trial who married John Noel. I had seen Lorie Trial Mostellar's post stating she knew for sure that John G. Trial was David's son. I've tried to contact her and found an obituary for her last year. I'm wondering if she told anyone else what "Proof she had". Anyone in this line can join the Daughters of the American Revolution if we can "Prove that John is David's son". (Or Sons of the American Revolution.
