John Trial & Elizabeth Bowman's daughter was Juilet Trial who was married to John Anderson, their daughter was Colona Anderson (side note: there's a street in Bartonville, IL named after her) who married Edward Ball, one of their children was Wesley Ball, my grandfather, who married Lillian Watts, their youngest was my dad, Eugene Ball.
Thanks for getting back to me so soon. Chasing my family is something I've wanted to do for a long time. Being retired makes it easier. How are we related? Thanks

We go way back. I am descended from John and Elizabeth's son, Robert Henry Trial I. Juliet and Robert were siblings. There's a lot of information about the Ball family in Bartonville as well as the Trial Cemetery where John G. Trial is buried.

I grew up in B'ville and have been to the Trial cemetery a number of times. There are quite a few members of the Trial family still left in the area. I'm always interested in info about my family. I'm in Michigan but get to Central Ill every now & then. Your location? thx Randy Ball

I grew up in Illinois, then Michigan, then Indiana and now near Columbus, Ohio. Most of my branch of the family is gone. My Dad was an only child and I have two brothers who each have 2 boys. The Virginia Trial name seems to be dying out. The Texas Trial name is still flourishing. They came to the US much later than the Virginia Trial's and I can't find a connection although I'm sure there must be one in Alsace, France.

Yikes! An obituary for Lorie Trial Mosteller? The news of my death has been greatly exaggerated. I've only got ONE foot in the grave. :-)

I'm glad the obituary wasn't you.
Do you know if John's father was a David Trial/Tryall

I have no information on his parents or siblings. I do have some information on his descendants which I can mail to you if you give me your snail address. I am not related. I am working on a project on soldiers of the War of 1812 who are buried in Peoria county.
The info I have is: 1. a descendants list from Mrs. Warren Hayslip, a gggrandaughter
which I found at the Limestone Twp. office. 2. The Alpha Park Library in Bartonville has a book on the Trial family. There are about 3 pages that are pertinent (most are recent descendants). Do you have proof that John Trial was born in Virginia?
