Thanks for the information. I have that. Where I can't find Daniel is in Ohio with his parents. Morgan County is the only place in Ohio I can find him. I know that he was a boatman on the river in Ohio-what river? I can only assume it was the Muskingum River. Can you tell me is there an organization that might have such information?
I would entertain any suggestions at this point, I have been looking forever. Even went to Ohio and didn't find any record stating anywhere where he was born, other than the censuses-that start 1850 with family names listed.

Their son Daniel was born in 1778 in NJ. I checked my files for other Daniel Trimble or Tremble and found only one that was close in age ....

Daniel H. Tremble, b. 1829 in Harrison Co, IN - don't have his death date or place but he had children born up till 1881 so not the same as yours. Many from this Tremble/Trimble family line went west to California.

The Trimble name was prominently used in Ohio in late 1700s-early 1800s since there was a governor with that surname.

Just curious if you have the death date for Daniel (son of Jacob & Phoebe) that was born in 1778 to see if I can make a connection there, if it's possibly the same Daniel or perhaps even his father.

Thanks!

Henry TREMBLE worked for the COOKMAN family in Enniscorthy and came to rural Carmarthenshire when his boss visited his in-laws. Charles Caesar COOKMAN died in Wales and Henry stayed behind and married Martha Susan DAVIES from Uzmaston, Pembrokeshire and moved to Caio in Carmarthenshire where he died in 1876. Anyone researching these lines?

I've not read anything about a Trembly graveyard at the point. I've been to Tremley Point and only saw a small plaque designating the area as such. No doubt at one time the area was much larger. And that was after going thru lots of bush and weeds. I know it's private property now (industrial is more the word) . But I found most of the old time Trembly's at the Rahway Cemetary. Including Peter . And from what I heard and the looks of things the last time (several years ago)I was there the new caretaker at the time showed no signs of preserving the older stones. In fact, some stones were actually uprooted and thrown in the back of the property. Don't know if it was because they fell and broke or what. Some stones that were there on previous trips are now missing.

I am a descendant of the above. I recentley found the last will of his great-grandson Peter Trembley (3rd). It explains in detail about a "Trembley" graveyard in Tremley (no B) Point, Linden, NJ. I have lived in Union County NJ my entire life. I am searching for the graveyard which I believe is hidden in the salt marches near the banks of the mouth of the Rahway River. "Google" Tremley Point or Peter Trembley and read about the history of Tremley Point.

If so, his wife Minerva was 36 (so born abt 1844) at the time and they had a son, Henry, who was 2. The census says she was born in Indiana and her parents were born in WV and KY. How do you know her maiden name was Tremble?

There was a Minerva Trimble in the 1880 census, age 13, with her family- father's name James Trimble, mother Sarah. My father has no information regarding his father's family, other than the story that there were other siblings and they were all farmed out for some reason. He also said that he was told that "we" who ever that is, changed the nams spelling from Trombly to Trombla.
We all grew up in Toledo, Lucas co. I have found in the 1880 census a Thomas and a Maud Trombla living with the Gibert family as children. I would love to find my lineage! Thank you for any help.

I bought a photo that appears to be 1880? of four people. The back of the photo identifies them as Courtin' Days for Baker's and Tremble's. It then lists Bertha, Dr. Tremble, Nine, and Homer sitting on porch bannister. I found a William Tremble listed in Brooklyn, NY as a veterinary doctor with a wife Bertha, who'd given birth to 10 children, 5 living. In 1900 Their children were Bernhardt b. Mar 1880, Anthony b. June 1881, Elizabeth b. July 1887, Joseph b. April 1890, and a son ?? Columbus? b. Nov 1892.
I sure would like to see someone who has Tremble family claim this photo. If you have an interest in this photo, please contact me.

Kathy Wieland
Kathy@craftsbykathy.com
