I have searched all over for the orgin of my family name. I was born on 8-20-1937 to Miriam Kelly and John Hugh Treadaway. Both parents were born and raised in Noxubee County Mississippi. I have located relatives from there, but wish to know where the Treadaway name originated. Any help, Folks??
Thanks, Bonnie

Junie was right when she said that the Treadaway name came from England. My father and I have been doing some extensive research for about four years now. With the help from dads cousin Loise Lunsford we came across information dated back to the 1600's. I have so much info and I would really love to talk with the both of you. I will try to get an email address to you both as soon as I can.

The Treadaway dates back to the Magna Carta in England in 1215. The Coat of Arms of the Treadaway family has fought injustice since then. I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. My Great Great Grandmother was Marie Graiana Ronquillo (Spanish) from the Cheniere Ronquuillo Spanish Settlement located in Plaquemine Parish, south of New Orleans. The governor of the state of Louisiana has signed a bill giving the heir of Cheniere Ronquill the right to recover their land and mineral rights through the courts. This land was taken in 1895 for flood control, but was never used for that purpose. The Treadaway coat of arms is still fighting injustice, even today.

The Treadaway name dates back to England to the time of the Magna Carta in 1215. The Treadaway coat of arms has been fighting injustice since then. I was born and raised in New Orleans and my forebears came from the Cheniere Ronquillo Spanish Settlement in Plaquemne Parish, south of New Orleans. I worked for a Captain Orville Sprinkle from Bayou LaBarte, Alabama in Morgan Cityappreciated.

Hi Richard, I haven't logged onto the
message board in quiet some time. I lost my
4th child in '98, and it's slowed me down quiet
a bit.
Can you offer any more info on this coat-of
arms? I would love to see a photo of it.
Thanks, Bonnie

thanks
