My wife's maiden name is Terbovic -- the family is of Serbian descent and emigrated from what is now Croatia around the turn of the century (1900). Various family members from different generations spell the surname differently: Trbovic, Terbovich, Terbovic and so on. Her grandfather came to McKeesport, PA (near Pittsburgh) in 1901. Several of his brothers also immigrated there. Here are the descendants of his father, Josip:

Milovan's Ellis Island record says he came from a village called 'Trovjepor' in what is now Croatia, although I have been unable to locate it on modern maps.
Todor & his family moved to Detroit. I believe a grandson of his played football at the University of Michigan.
If there are any connections, I would be interested.
