Hi Toni,
Almost two years to the date that you posted the below on the website, I read your message to me.
Joseph Eugene Trabucco was my grandmother's cousin. His grandfather Luigi (Louis) Trabucco came from "Chiavari, Certenoli area," Italy. He arrived in the 1850's searching for gold in Mariposa area of the Sierras in California and returned to Italy to find a bride. He chose Elena Lambruschini of Siestre Levante on the coast not too far from Chiavari. (Chiavari is just a few miles north of Siestre, but my ggggrandfather Luigi was said to have come from the hills just east of there.) Luigi always gold mined (his first love) but ran a number of very successful stories through the hills of the Sierras near and in Mariposa.
Joseph Eugene Trabucco had only one brother, Louis J. so could not have been his brother. However, the fact that he had the picture indicates that the families were probably related somehow. I would love to learn more because I want more information on the Trabucco (stories and pictures and whatever). I don't have any Dante in my file so I would love to hear more. Also, tell me more about where he came from.
