I am looking for my grandgrandfather's brothers' ancestors.
His name was Zahar Davydovich Trauberg, he lived in Odessa, Ukraine, worked in a "Kopeika" newspaper.
Married Emilia Veiland and they had three sons - Leonid, Viktor and Ilya.
Zaharia, David's son had several brothers and sisters, but I know only one name - Sarah, she lives in France
The story goes that they were originally from Orgeev, Moldova (then Bessarabia).
Any connections between Trauberg and Trabert?

Hi,

I am Andrei Khrenov, a grandson of Ilya Zakharovich Trauberg (Zakhar Davydovych is his father), so I am your relative I guess.. I am interested in everything that relates to my grandfather (on my mother's side)..

I am sharing my time between Seattle and Moscow, and few years ago has been at the funerals of Ilya's daughter, a famous translator and radio host Natalya Trauberg...

Please let me know how I can get in touch with you.

Hope to hear from you :-) My e-mail: kinopravda68@gmail.com

One more thing, Tom - from that little that I know, Zakhar wasn't just an employee at Kopeika - he actually started it as his small enterprise but it wasn't very successful :-)
I can e-mail you the photos of Ilya with my Mom in 1947, a year before he died in Berlin..
