Hi Dale,
Thanks for the run down on Jared's ancestors. I have the book Jared Tozer and His Descendants. It's written by W.D. Hamilton. It has everything about his children, grandchildren, etc.
You can buy the book directly from the author. He has a book store called Miramichi Books. You can reach him at...

Miramichi Books
PO Box 2623
Saint John, NB, Canada
E2L 4S8

or wdandmeh@nbnet.nb.ca

He often sells his book on e-bay (which is where I got my copy)

Hi Georgia, I am tracing the Tozier line. My g-grandfather's name was Pembroke. I am told we have Indian roots. I don't know if Pembroke was Indian or his wife Elizabeth Moore. Maybe we are in the same line of Toziers. I would be interested in your findings to see if we are connected. I am very interested in tracing this part of my roots.

There may be a possibility that the Edward Tozer, born 1826 is related to Jared Tozer (born 1764), Jared had a son Daniel, born abt 1801. Daniel had 11 children including a son, Edward Tozer, born Feb 12, 1826, and a son William, born June 16, 1840.

Your best bet is to buy a copy of a book on Jared's descendants, which should fill you in on your heritage, if this is the same descendancy.
Source and mailing address to obtain a copy is as follows:
Hamilton, Willis D. 1998. Jared Tozer and his descendants. Miramichi Books, P.O. Box 2623, Saint John, N.B., Canada E2L 4S8.

Happy hunting...
Bill Tozer

Haven't specifically researched ties with Indians, but given the location where they settled in Canada, and lands they acquired, there probably are some. My branch is tied to Jared Tozier, wife, and sons, who were from Conn. and moved to NB Canada.
