I am looking for more info on a Samuel Tozer and his wife Levica (Adams) Tozer. They were supposedly in Illinois in the first half of the 19th century. Some conjecture they might have been near Shiloh Illinois. They probably were the parents of William Adam Tozer (1818-1868), Hannah Tozer, and James Tozer. We think they were farmers. I can find no new info at this time.

My interest in Samuel Tozer is to find if he had a son named William Adam Tozer. William was born around 1817. We think he was born in Illinois, in St. Clair county. William ended up in Wisconsin around the River Falls area. He married a Rachel Penn. I have absolutely no information on his parents or any siblings. William Adam Tozer went back to Shiloh Illinois when he was dying to be near his relatives according to a news article. We have info on his marriage date of 23 Jan. 1845 in St. Clair Co. Illinois. We have info on his wife's family but not a word on his.

I am looking for information about Levica Adams. Was Levica her real name? Several have suggested it is Louisa misspelled. Where was she born? Her daughter Cynthia Ann Tozier Tozer is my GG grandmother. Would love any info you have Thank you in advance,

Illinois marriage record dated November 18, 1818, shows Louisa. Let me know if you want a copy of the original.Record shows marriage was in St Clair County Ill.

TOZER, SAMUEL ADAMS, LOUISA 1817-11-18 B 31 PER COLL ST. CLAIRd

I can find nothing on Adams in the area. My family history from LSD shows only Samuel's sons. May I ask you for data on daughters? Thank you.
I am descendant of William Tozer, Samuel's son.

Hi Charlie,

I'm descended from Charles Tozer, who I believe was one of the sons of Samuel & Louisa/Levica. You mentioned in your post that the family history you have from LSD shows the sons - can you please let me know if you see Charles there?

According to my information, he was born abt 1818 (based on census ages in 1860 & 1880). If so, do you have a real birth date and/or middle name for Charles? I have William as his middle name from another source, but am not sure how accurate that is.

Thanks!
