CARTERVILLE, Missouri - Kenneth J. Toyne, 66, a former resident of Muscatine, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home following a three week illness.
Casketbearers will be Lyle Kress, Michael Kress, Kevin Kress, Jack Stoffers, Tony Stoffers, Allen Hale and Ron Almandinger. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine.
Memorials may be made to the Michael Kress Education Fund in care of the family.
Kenneth was born on June 27, 1941, in Muscatine, the son of Arthur H. and Frances B. Lucas Toyne.
He was a former member of the Army Reserves.
Kenneth moved to the Carterville area 15 years ago from Muscatine.
He worked as an electrician at Bill's Electric Company in Webb City, retiring in 2004.
He was of the Methodist faith and his hobbies included relaxing on the back patio with friends, spending time with his cat, Sassy, playing cards, watching western movies, and listening to Country western music.
The family would like to thank Ron and Shirley Almandinger and their daughters, Monica and Misty, for being his family in Carterville, Missouri.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Kress and husband, Lyle, of Blue Grass, and Tammy Stoffers and husband, Jack, of Blue Grass; one grandson, Michael Kress and wife, Roberta, of Muscatine; one brother, Richard Toyne of Sunbury; two sisters, Audrey Johnson of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Linda Claussen of Grand Mound; his wife, Roberta of Muscatine; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Windus.
