NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Jean A. Toy, age 83, of Newark , Ohio, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Entombment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery./

Jean passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).

She was born August 2, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio to Cecil L. and Ida B. (Hatters) Toy.

She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, attending for over 50 years.
Jean particularly enjoyed going to brunch with the ladies of the church on Sunday afternoons.

Jean worked with Ohio Bell, AT&T and Ameritech for a combined 43 years, retiring December 31, 1992.
Jean enjoyed traveling on bus trips, bowling in her bowling league, listening to country music, playing cards in card club and attending retirees luncheon groups.

She is survived by two nieces, Wanda (Gene) Grover of Newark and Pauly (Tim) Swinehart of Columbus, OH; two nephews, Michael (Buzz) Toy of New Mexico and David (Judy) Toy of Florida; four great nieces, Kim Geary of Newark, Tina (Josh) Boudinot of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Vance (Victoria) Grover of Canton, OH and Jaimie Baughman of St. Louisville, OH; Erin Rogers of Columbus, Danny Toy Of Columbus, Christopher Toy Columbus, Shad Swinehart of CA and Jason Swineheart of Columbus; eight great-great nieces; seven great-great nephews; five great-great-great nieces; and seven great-great-great nephews;

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Evelyn Toy, Raymond and Clara Toy, Rolland Toy; and a niece Rollanda (Toy) Zigan.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
