I found a posting from Lucille Backes when I looked for Calixto Tovar. She is my 1st cousin and I recall meeting Calixto once in NYC when I was a child & once later in NJ when he came to dinner. Referred to as "Uncle/Cousin Calixto" by my Mother, Dolores Bodet Schumann, who married Jack G. Schumann. I'm the youngest of Rosa Tovar Bodet's 23 grandchildren. Interesting world we live in, isn't it? My sister, Judith, & I have been discussing heritage, etc. I understand that my maternal grandfather, Felipe A. Bodet was, as far as we know, from New Orleans and my grandmother, from San Antonio, once Mexico & now Texas. Hope to hear more about the family on both the French & Spanish sides - like, how & when did the Bodets get to this continent from France, etc.

Hello

I ran across your post and am not sure if this message will reach you. My great, great grandfather was Edward Thompson and two of his sisters married into the Cross family. One of those sisters was Elizabeth Bible Thompson (also known as Eliza) who married Isaac Erasmus Cross. One of Elizabeth (Eliza) and Isaac's daughter's was Edith Cross who married Fred Schumann. One of Edith and Fred Schumann's sons was Jack G. Schumann, who is your father.

A rather long winded way to say that we have common ancestors and I would be thrilled to hear from you. I would gladly share the information about the Thompson family that I have collected.

I have my fingers crossed that you will get notification about this reply and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely
Thelma Hartman, Calgary, Alberta
