Surnames: Touchberry, Tisdale, Rich, Tindal
James,

While my primary focus is on the South Carolina Tisdale family, I do have some information on the Touchberry family from the Sumter/Clarendon areas. I have not run into a ‘Matt’ but his location and birth year would suggest that he is likely related to the Hugh F Touchberry family. Hugh’s son, William Thomas Touchberry married Mary A Tisdale, the daughter of Mumford J Tisdale and Leonora Broadway. In addition, Mumford’s son, Thomas Jefferson Tisdale married an Elizabeth Touchberry though I have been unable to connect Elizabeth and Hugh’s family.

As a result, I show your line as follows:

Great- Great-Great-Grandfather
Hugh F Touchberry, born 1808 in South Carolina, married Rebecca Tindal, born about 1810 in South Carolina.

Great-Great-Grandfather
William Thomas Touchberry, born January 7, 1844 in Clarendon County, South Carolina and died August 13, 1914 in Clarendon County, South Carolina. William married (1) Mary A Tisdale, born abt. 1844. No known children. William married (2) Henrietta Beauford Rich, born July 20, 1854 and died June 24, 1934. She is buried Home Branch Baptist Church, Clarendon County, South Carolina and William is said to be buried in the Tisdale Family Cemetery, Clarendon County, South Carolina. Additional info on siblings

Great-Grandfather
Charles Hugh Touchberry, born November 7, 1880 in South Carolina. Additional info on siblings.

Grandfather
Solomon Edward Touchberry, Sr., married Cornelia Brown (from your posting)

Father
Solomon Edward Touchberry, Jr.

You
James Touchberry
William Thomas Touchberry
Tracey Rene Touchberry

I am writing for my husband, Howard Greene. He is researching his family line and trying to fill in blanks. He is a descendant from Molly and Ephraim Billy. (Ephraim was the son of Adam Billy and Emily (?) and Adam Billy was the son of Frank and Susan Billy (born 1820, 1830) and the first recorded family member recorded in this country. Billy is sometimes spelled as Billie.

Howard's grandfather John Billy was Ephraim's brother.
