Toth's that Came from Hungry in the Early 1900's
I see so many Toth's with so many similarities,( common names and states) but I can't make any connections. If you see one in this very long letter please respond. As far as I know Andrew, Ida and Alex Toth came over from Hungry in the early 1900's. I don't have their fathers name. He had 23 children, and was a land baron near Budapest. Apparently his wives kept dying, so he remarried several times, hence the many children. WW1 was brewing, and Hungry was under Austrian control, so he decided to sell off his land and give 1000 to each child. 4 decided to come to America together. Andrew, Ida and Alex settled in Nazareth PA. Another brother moved to CA, but we don't know his name. The only way I can gage the date they came to America is by my grandfathers birth. He was born Andrew Toth in Nazareth PA during 1921, followed by Frank, and Ann. Andrew SR was divorced from Ann Balough and his wife took off to FL with baby Ann, and left the rest of the kids. Ann lives in Tampa, and we believe she is still alive. Andrew SR. Ida and Alex moved to Richmond IN. Andrew worked for international Harvester, died around 1960.. Ida married a Dudas and they had a farm, kids named Alec, Bill and Joe. Bill married Pauline Angi. Alec and Joe are still alive. It's so weird that all these Toth's have names like Andrew, Alec, Alex, Ida, Frank. Perhaps it's all coincedence, but my great great grandfather had 23 kids, so there are an infinate number of relatives out there.

When was your grandfather born? I've been learning just how common the Toth surname is.

It is my belief that my grandmother, Marie Toth Kemain Ruby, was from Forro Hungary around Budapest. Her parents were Janos John Toth 1826-1855b; died 1880-1940 perhaps in US. Maybe Ligonier or Wilpen, PA. Mother was Borbalo Barbara Bertha Hornyak Hudak b1835-1858; d 1880-1946; Sister Boris (Barbara)Bertha Toth b 1/23/1877. There is a Barbara Borbala Toth born 9/8/1879 in Felso Gagy Hungary in the Ancestry World.

I am hoping you have information regarding Ida and Alex Toth. Did they stay in the Nazareth, PA area? Any information about their children? My mother was a Toth born and raised in Pen Argyl, PA....wondering if Ida or Alex is a relative.

Alex and Ida were brother and sister. They moved from Nazareth to Richmond Indiana between 1921 and 1931. There weren't any children left in Penn, unless something unexpected might have happened. I've found Ida, and Alex are very commmon names. Renee names.
