VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Elizabeth Toth, 88, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio’s west side, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, 2014, at her home after a long and fulfilling life.
Betty was born in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) on Oct. 25, 1926, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Horvath Szaday.
She lived in this area until moving to Virginia Beach in 2002 to be near her daughter after the death of her husband.
She was a graduate of The Rayen School, Youngstown, Ohio
She also worked as a bookkeeper for the former W.O. Strausbaugh Dodge car dealership.
Mrs. Toth was a member of the Rockview Christian Church, which was the former American Hungarian Reformed Church, in Youngstown, Ohio where she had been a Sunday School teacherns.
She had also been an active member of the Sam Camen Center in Youngstown.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Rodney Pennington of Virginia Beach; a sister, Pearl Sendry of Leechburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Gabriel C. Toth, whom she married Aug. 8, 1948, passed away March 20, 2002. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Graveside committal services will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Rockview Christian Church, 925 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.
