Edward,
Do you know where James Franklin & Sarah Cagle Briscoe Franklin ended up? I have found them in 1880 Census for Morgan County, AL and can't find them after that. Do you by any chance have death dates and burial places for them?
Sarah Cagle Briscoe Toten was my ggg-grandmother through Nancy Briscoe (daughter of Sarah & John Briscoe).

Also, I have 2 children, Sarah & William Edward Toten listed for James & Sarah. Were there more? Any info on them would be appreciated, too.

Kim,

I found James Frankin Toten and his 2d wife, Mary A. Guess on the 1900 Census - Beat 3 Zilpha, Attala, Mississippi.

Sarah Cagle Toten died 1886 in Navarro County, Texas.

I just submitted an enumeration/transcription update as head of family is listed with a surname of James T Taton. His place and date of birth is also in error.

Thank you for the lead. I have found them and noted the age of James. He aged 29 years between 1880 and 1900!

Are you a descendant of this family?
