Jacquelene, your message in February said that your half sister was related to the Totsch family in Illinois and Missouri. Do you know the first names and towns of some of your decendents? I've been able to do more research and have come up with several more names that I would like to check on...thanks, Pat

There is an Ethel Totch listed in the SSDI - born 3 Nov 1891, died Dec 1967. Did she marry William Totch? They lived in Manistee, MI. I am looking for relatives of Jeanette Myrtle Totch born 4 June 1911 in Manistee, MI. Her father was William Totch, but he married Myrtle Benton.

I have some pictures of the original Totsch's that imported here from Germany in the 1800s. All I have is the pictures. They were given to my parents from some other Totsches that live in Illinios in the early 80's. I was too young to remember them. However, I do not know the name of the Totsches in the pictures but I have heard that all the Totsches are descended from them. If anyone knows them please let me know.

I am Jessica Totsch. I lived in Illinois in the 80's. My father Oran Totsch, my uncle Norman Totsch, and my grandfather Clyde Totsch also lived in Illinois over the years. However I do not recognize the photographs. Wow, could those be our relatives? Totsch is not a common name by any means!

Wow, that is so neat that your name is Jessica Totsch. I have a sister named Jessica Totsch. My father is Jeff Totsch who father was Walter Eugene Totsch. I think he may have been from Illinois. My dad was given those photos by another Totsch lady in Illinois who said they were pictures of the original Totsches that immigrated from Germany. I assumed most of us Totsch are descendants of them unless there were other immigrants.

Actually, this is from jtotsch@wi.rr.com. My friend Jerri is letting me use her ancestry id to login.

Anyway, I believe that the man and the woman in the pictures are either Henry and Anna Totsch (Henry came from Prussia, not Germany) who would be my great-great grandparents or it is of my great-grandparents, William and Anna.

Most likely, the pictures came from my Aunt, who has been tracing our family tree.

I believe that Henry is the progenitor of the Totsch line in the US. He came from Prussia and married Anna Keller in the 1800s.

Hope this helps. You can contact me for further information. jtotsch@wi.rr.com
